內蒙古對於中共文化滅絕的抗議遭到鎮壓，即便已有抗議者自殺身亡，中共仍未改變計劃，並以各種懲罰措施逼迫學生家長和老師送孩子返校復課。一名家長無奈稱，若得不到國際社會的幫助，內蒙古很可能成為第二個新疆。
雖然抗議用漢語取代蒙語作為主要教育語言的活動仍在繼續，但中共當局卻重申今年8月提出的「五個不變」改革建議。
中共每年都從西藏選拔優秀的藏族學生帶到內地教育，並承擔他們所有學費和生活費，而享受這些待遇的代價是：切斷與西藏文化、傳統、宗教信仰的關係，接受中共的洗腦。政府人士稱，這是政府漢化西藏、穩定西藏的一項戰略。
中國公安部部長趙克志前往（內）蒙古，下令毫不留情地鎮壓抗議活動。鎮壓行動已經開始。
